The second day

In the morning  we had breakfast in the church hall with all the leaders and young people. After having our breakfast we went into the meeting room to start different activities involved in this programme. We started with a movement to keep everyone awake and ready to start our day .
We played a game which was about creating our language without speaking in any of the languages we already known. The leaders separated us into 4 groups and we had to come up with new words without talking and then present them to the whole group.

We also talked about gender roles and stereotypes and did a short role play. In the afternoon we created "Lifelines" about important events in our lives and shared it with each other.

Happy Birthday, Sam! :)

THE FIRST DAY

Our youth exchange is a programme about identity. It
involves young people from different countries , Belarus, Latvia, Ukraine and Ireland. This programme helps us to learn things about other countries and their cultures.

The first day , we started at 9.30 am in our meeting room. We started presenting ourselves because no one knew our different names. We posted them on the wall by writing down our name on pieces of papers and said where all of us were from.

Also, we played another game to learn more about our names and different activities. After that we went for lunch and when we came back to our room we were separated us into four groups. We played a game which was on building a foundation with pieces of papers to save our eggs. We threw  them through the window on the second floor and only 2 eggs survived.

We went for dinner and then the Irish team did their presentation in that evening about Irish history and dance.

The leaders also got an opportunity to meet the Irish group who gave them a tour of their youth club, presented the work they do there and showed them around the area where their live.
